Closing of the Bones — The Ceremony of Return

Updated: Oct 8

There is a moment, after all the opening… when a woman’s body whispers,It’s time to come home.

The Closing of the Bones is one of the most tender, ancient rituals a woman can receive. It honours the great opening that happens, not only through birth, but through loss, change, endings, and the thresholds that reshape us.

It is a ceremony of gathering, of remembrance. A soft invocation of the woman’s spirit, calling her energy back from all the places it has been stretched, poured and scattered.

We begin in stillness. The air holds a hush of reverence. Candles flicker, soft music hums low, and the scent of warm oils fills the space.

Sometimes we share cacao, sometimes tears come first, sometimes laughter. Everything is welcome here.

Through gentle touch, massage and the rhythmic wrapping of rebozos, traditional woven cloths - your body is cocooned, layer by layer. Each wrap becomes a prayer. Each knot, a remembrance.

A sacred weaving that says,You are held. You are honoured. You can rest now.

The hips, the womb, the shoulders, the heart. all are wrapped in gratitude. The body exhales. The nervous system softens. And in that stillness, something ancient within you remembers.

This ceremony is for any woman standing at the edge of transformation - postpartum, post-loss, post-breakthrough, or simply sensing it’s time to close one chapter before entering the next.

The Closing of the Bones is not just physical; it is energetic, emotional, spiritual. It is the art of gathering yourself back. The slow unwinding of what no longer belongs and the gentle sealing of what you choose to carry forward.

By the end, your body feels whole again.Your heart grounded.Your spirit home.

This is the power of being seen, held, and wrapped in love. This is the medicine of women remembering themselves.

If your body is whispering for this kind of return, I would be honoured to hold you through it.
